Removing the Confusion from Websphere or What the Hell is Websphere
Alison Butterill & Linda Cole, IBM

September 16th, 2003 FASUG Meeting

IBM's WebSphere Family of products is designed for eBusiness. But, how did the industry arrive here? Why are we doing Java, Java Server Pages and Servlets? Is WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries only for Java programmers?

This session will discuss the technologies that have led us to implementing eBusiness with a combination of Java and RPG. We will show you the steps that you can take to modernize your skills and development environment. And no .... WDSC is not just for Java programmers. There are wizards and smartguides that are imbedded in many of the components to help iSeries programmers create web applications with minimal coding!! As your skills grow and evolve, your development tools will continue to support your activities. Come and be amazed by the wealth of options that WDSC can provide to a developer.
